Abandoned Elementary School

This weekend,  I took a trip a few hours outside the Beltway into rural Virginia. One of the surprised we stumbled up was what looked like an abandoned school. We decided to drive up and check it out, and at least snap a few pics from the outside. It was pretty interesting inside, esp the gym that doubled as an auditorium. It was fairly modern inside, but you could tell it had been quite some time since it was used as an education facility. One one chalkboard, A past student who attend last in 1976, had returned in 1992….so it had been at least over 20 years.

After returning home and doing a little research, it seems that it was closed in 1982. Here’s a few photos from the trip.
